Comment on has your baby’s heartbeat not been detected, but everything fine? by Juss.me http://summerbabymonitors.com/has-your-babys-heartbeat-not-been-detected-but-everything-fine/comment-page-1/#comment-6504 Juss.me Sun, 16 Jan 2011 01:53:53 +0000 http://summerbabymonitors.com/has-your-babys-heartbeat-not-been-detected-but-everything-fine/#comment-6504 Maybe the baby was in a position where the head was facing your back and the instrument she was using to detect the heart beat was not able 2 obtain the sound from the position the baby was in. But this, she should have explained to you. CALL your doctor, they will Do an ultrasound to CHECK it out. It is surprising that she ignored your concerns. And has you all worried like this. Drop her and get a doctor, if she is this negligent in telling you why the heartbeat can not be detected, kinda makes one wonder what else she will show little concern for. How can she be so sure that things are alright. Gee's she cant even explain whats up & address a valid concern. Her reaction is a red flag, she seems very inexperienced. SEE YOUR DOCTOR.**she** is not a doctor and either lacks knowledge or has little regard for your concern. My friend came, the doctor at first could not find his heartbeat with the doppler, she freaked out and was almost in tears. We went in the next room for an ultrasound and everything was fine. The obgyn I had with my last pregnancy had problems finding my sons at almost every appointment. Since you're not far enough along to feel your baby move you need to request an ultrasound just to make sure the baby is alright. Try not to stress out too much over it. Comment on has your baby’s heartbeat not been detected, but everything fine? by Ellee http://summerbabymonitors.com/has-your-babys-heartbeat-not-been-detected-but-everything-fine/comment-page-1/#comment-6501 Ellee Sun, 16 Jan 2011 00:19:36 +0000 http://summerbabymonitors.com/has-your-babys-heartbeat-not-been-detected-but-everything-fine/#comment-6501 Usually by 12-13 weeks, the heartbeat can be detected, although it may be hard to find. Also, the location of the placenta can make getting the baby's heartbeat harder. If you have an anterior placenta (where the placenta is attached to the front of the uterus), then it can be harder to get the baby's heartbeat, because the monitor will detect your heartbeat first, and the baby is hiding underneath it all somewhere. I'd definitely go back to your midwife or go to a clinic and see if they can find it today. I'm not a doctor, but I'm pretty sure at 16 weeks, the heartbeat should be detectable. If they can't find it today, you can ask for a vaginal sonogram (which can detect the heartbeat even earlier) or an ultrasound where they should definitely be able to see it. The way I see it is, the wireless blood pressure thing probatly is worth it if you have high blood pressure problems. But, with the baby monitor I see that as a rip off do to the fact that you could simple by a cheap webcam to monitor the baby. You dont need that expensive device. But, I love it when you guys cover CES because you guys are really talented at it! Those products are really expensive for what they can do.
